Bahrain enables bus registration renewal on portal
MANAMA, January 19, 2020
Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) announced the launch of a new service allowing the owners of public transport vehicles such as taxis and tour buses to renew vehicle registrations online via the national portal bahrain.bh.
Launched in coordination with Ministry of Transportation & Telecommunications (MTT) and the General Directorate of Traffic (GDT) the service allows individuals and business owners to renew registrations of public transport vehicles via a single transaction, as both MTT and GDT’s fees have been combined as one payment that doesn’t require separate reviews by each organization, saving users’ time and effort.
iGA said that the service will differ depending on the type of user. Business owners will need to enter Commercial Registration (CR) numbers and expiry dates, then the registration type (taxis, on-demand taxis, rental vehicles, public transport vehicles, vehicles for tourist transport, or vehicles for construction companies).
Individuals can renew their registrations by logging with their eKeys onto the "My Traffic Record" service either via the National Portal or through the traffic services application available at bahrain.bh/apps. Accordingly, they can renew the registrations of several vehicles and pay traffic violations, if any, through a single transaction.
GDT provides a range of services through iGA’s eChannels such as access to traffic records, a contact details updating service, payment of traffic fines, renewals of registrations and licenses, and more. These services are available 24 hours a day and can be accessed via personal computers, smartphones or self-service kiosks. – TradeArabia News Service
