Skywell UAE has joined forces with National Taxi, an operator for Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), to advance sustainable transportation in the emirate.
The partnership supports key national initiatives, including the UAE’s Climate Neutrality Initiative 2050, the National Electric Vehicle Policy, and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030.
Skywell, a global leader in energy-efficient vehicle manufacturing, will integrate its electric vehicles (EVs) into National Taxi’s fleet. This marks a significant step towards achieving the UAE's net-zero emissions target for public transport by 2050 and the goal of 100% electric taxis and limousines by 2040.
Chena Reddy, Group Managing Director at Legend Holding Group, emphasised the importance of this partnership. “Our electric vehicles are designed with the latest energy-efficient technology, ensuring a smooth transition to cleaner transportation while significantly reducing carbon emissions,” he said.
Toufic Mitri, CEO of National Taxi Company, highlighted the alignment of this initiative with Dubai's sustainability goals. “By adopting electric vehicles, we are not only improving service efficiency but also contributing to the UAE’s broader environmental targets. This collaboration reinforces our commitment to delivering modern and sustainable mobility solutions as per RTA’s plans,” he said.
Mitri also acknowledged the expanding infrastructure supporting electric mobility in Dubai. “With 380 green EV charging stations currently operational and plans to increase the number to 1,000 by 2025, the city's infrastructure is strengthening this partnership,” he added.
Skywell’s advanced EV technology promises to enhance operational efficiency while reducing transport-related emissions. The initiative reflects the RTA’s broader vision for green transport and supports the UAE’s Green Agenda 2030, which aims to promote clean urban mobility and reduce carbon emissions.
This collaboration not only contributes to a healthier environment for future generations but also aligns with the UAE’s commitment to pioneering innovative and sustainable solutions for its rapidly growing urban population.-TradeArabia News Service
