Gas-driven system speeds up work

01 May 2009

LIECHTENSTEIN-based Hilti, a provider of technologically-leading products and systems for construction professionals worldwide, has launched the innovative Hilti GX 120 gas-driven fastening system that speeds up interior finishing and building construction work.

Featuring electronically-controlled gas injection and the world’s first gas level indicator – but no battery to charge – this highly reliable and efficient system takes drywall track fastening and wire mesh fixing productivity to new heights, claims the company.
This fastening system is ideal for a wide range of repetitive fastening jobs in the drywall trade, says Sam Winkler, product manager for Hilti’s Direct Fastening Systems at the Hilti regional office for the Middle East and South Asia region.
“Powered by gas only, this handy system drives nails with ease on concrete, rendered masonry, sand-lime block, concrete block and steel,” he says. “It is keylessly adjustable and the interchangeable nosepiece allows use of a washer holder for an even wider range of applications like wire mesh fixing, thus ensuring maximum fastening quality on virtually every material encountered on the jobsite.”
“Ruggedly built, perfectly balanced and ergonomically designed, the GX 120 offers maximum working comfort in all directions,” he continues. “Thanks to its slim, streamlined design, nails can be driven easily in the tightest corners and in very narrow track profiles.”
This reliable, fully mobile system requires no battery charging and starts up without trouble even at very low temperatures. In non-stop fastening applications, 750 nails can be driven with a single gas can. “Moreover, you’ll never run out of gas unexpectedly because, at the touch of a button, the GX 120’s unique LED gas level indicator always lets you know how much gas is left. You’re thus reminded in plenty of time when the can needs changing – no guesswork and no need to remove the can for checking,” he says. Hilti offers a universal range of nails – for concrete and concrete blocks plus special nails for high-strength concrete or steel and thus the one for fastening drywall track grips perfectly on materials of virtually every kind.
“Hilti fastening tools, nails and gas cans are developed together and perfectly matched to each other to ensure the highest possible performance and efficiency. The GX 120 system, with its new gas can concept, sets the new benchmark,” says Winkler.
As with all Hilti tools, owners of the Hilti GX 120 also enjoy the unique advantages of Hilti Lifetime Service. Hilti provides this comprehensive, top-class service for the entire life of the product – free of charge for the first year from date of purchase – covering repair or replacement of defective parts and even parts subject to wear and tear. After that, Hilti continues to prove the quality of its products by setting a repair cost limit – for the entire life of the product, he adds.
