BASF unveils new TBM excluder grease

BASF Construction Chemicals has entered the market of main bearing sealing greases with its own dedicated production plant.

The new product line, Meyco BSG excluder grease, for tunnel boring machines (TBMs) has been used up to now in significant quantities on selected machines of the leading manufacturers with excellent results, says a company spokesman.
“Additionally, the leading main bearing sealing manufacturers Merkel Freudenberg (Germany) and James Walker (UK) have qualified the Meyco BSG excluder greases,” he adds.
They are consequently appropriate for all worldwide operating TBMs, he says.
The Meyco BSG excluder greases round up BASF’s portfolio of speciality chemicals for TBMS along with:
Meyco SLF and Rheosoil soil conditioning agents;
Meyco ABR anti-dust and anti-abrasion agents;
Meyco TSG tail sealants; and
Meyco GA admixtures for annulus grouts.
Furthermore, for this market segment, BASF Construction Chemicals offers Meyco MP injection product, Rheocem microcements as well as concrete admixtures for segmental lining.
