JCB, one of the world’s top manufacturers of construction equipment, now offers an extensive range of high-specification, diesel-powered generators, reflecting its successful entry into the global power generation market.
The new range is a line-up of 52 models, covering 19 power nodes from 8 to 600 kVA – with bespoke builds available up to 2,200 kVA.
JCB Power Products – JCB’s business unit responsible for generators – has made great strides in the industry since the inception of the division in late 2006, with sales into the waste and recycling, quarrying and construction sectors and for use as back-up supply for commercial applications such as shops, offices and hospitals.
“JCB generators have been designed to meet the requirements of a very demanding worldwide market for both prime power and standby power applications,” says a company spokesman.
The range is split into four types – 19 open generators, 19 canopy generators, 10 specialist rental models, and four models specific to the telecommunications sector. All power nodes are available at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, with rental models available at 50 Hz.
All canopies are manufactured from heavy-duty steel with a polymer powder coating for rust-proof protection. Engines and alternators have been perfectly matched to give trouble-free operation and all daily checks and service points are easily accessible.
JCB’s own Dieselmax engine power the mid-range generators which account for 40 per cent of the worldwide generator demand. The smaller generators use Yanmar diesel engines while the larger generators are powered by Iveco and Scania diesels. Electrical power is provided by Newage Stamford alternators across the whole range.
Setting new standards within the industry, all models (17 kVA and upwards) feature a digital control panel as standard. The panel’s features include an event log, alarm list, real-time clock, maintenance call and engine ‘USB-Can’ support, including fault code diagnosis, additionally giving the ability to be operated remotely via a GSM modem connection.
UK-based JCB, with a 62-year history, has invested heavily in research and development, keeping itself at the cutting edge of innovation.
Today, JCB has some of the finest engineering facilities across the globe and produces a range of more than 300 machines and maintains a reputation for unrivalled customer service.
Now firmly established in the market place, JCB exports to more than 30 countries worldwide with sales and support handled through a selection of its global network of construction dealers.
The company employs over 8,000 people and its products are sold in 150 countries through 1,500 dealer depot locations.
