SteelFab registers interest

01 August 2009

THE “green shoots” of economic recovery visible in the UAE are generating considerable initial bookings for the upcoming SteelFab 2010 and serious enquiries about the show are increasing by the day.
SteelFab 2010, the region’s premier trade show for the metal-working, metal-manufacturing and steel fabrication industry, is scheduled to be held from January 11 to 14 next year at Expo Centre Sharjah, UAE. It will be organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with the support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“SteelFab 2010 offers manufacturers and distributors a golden opportunity to benefit from the upturn in the regional economies. The coming edition of the show will help exhibitors perfectly time the market, enabling them to ride the wave of recovery,” says Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, director-general of Expo Centre Sharjah.
“Tube and Pipe Machinery” will be a special focus segment at SteelFab 2010 and will benefit from special visitor promotions to bring in target visitor groups from the process, oil and gas, ship-building, MEP, pipelines and other pipe and tube user industries.
Preparations are on to better develop these special focus areas for the coming edition and new launches will be part of this initiative.
Though SteelFab 2009 coincided with the global financial meltdown, the show was able to generate interest in the industry and was termed a success on the back of the number of trade visitors (6,463) and deals struck during the show. It hosted more than 600 brands in a total exhibition area of 18,000 sq m, featuring the Middle East’s largest display of machinery, machine tools, welding equipment, supplies, consumables and ancillary equipment used in the pre- and post-treatment of steel.
