International multidisciplinary engineering consultancy Buro Happold is celebrating its latest win – the new fish market complex in Muscat, Oman.

Designed by Snohetta, this high-profile project in the heart of the city will be a new waterfront landmark and will feature landing, refrigeration, preparation, packing and restaurant facilities.

The new market will form a focal point on the Muscat quayside by replacing the existing 1960s premises, which while housing a popular and traditional working market visited by locals and tourists alike, has seen demand outgrow its capacity and functionality.

Buro Happold will provide structural, building services, geotechnical and civil engineering services for the Muscat Municipality project.
