Reynaers to put on a show at Dammam

01 March 2012

REYNAERS Middle East will line up an extensive range of its architectural aluminium profile solutions at the Buildex 2012 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, this month (March 18 to 21).

Some of Reynaers’ most sought-after products will be showcased at exhibition that will be held at the Dhahran International Exhibition Centre.

Among the company’s latest innovations on show at its Stand 304 will be the new CP 130 Pa parallel sliding elements that provide a wide variety of possibilities as well as high performance and enhanced burglar resistance.

Other products on show at the event include:

CS 59Pa-RE, comprising an extensive range of non-insulated profiles for the construction of elegant and moderately priced aluminium frames in Renaissance-style buildings. Ideal for outdoor applications in warm climates, it can also be used for the partitioning of indoor office spaces;

CS 77 BP, a thermally improved three-chamber system for windows and doors that boasts the optimum combination of safety and comfort. This bullet-proof (BP) system is suitable for sensitive buildings such as banks, retail stores, hotels, police and military buildings. It is available in a variety of aesthetic shapes to match the current architectural trends whilst offering all types of both inward and outward opening windows and doors. A double butt strip between the frame and vent and a lowered drainage ensure superior wind and water-tightness;

CW 50 SC, a structural clamped (SC) façade system that allows for maximum transparency. The CW 50 curtain-wall façade and roof system offers immense creative freedom and maximises on daylight.

CW 65-EF-SG, a system suited for high-rises, which enables unitised façades to be totally pre-assembled in the workshop, speeding up work on site. The aesthetic structural glazing (SG) version has glass plates separated by a minimum joint of 16 mm, with plates glued directly onto a pre-assembled frame, reducing the required number of components and further minimising the construction time; and

GP 51, an innovative full-glass sliding system. The Glass Patio (GP) 51 consists of individually sliding glass panels without vertical frames, providing a convenient and modular solution for glazing balconies and terraces or partitioning internal office spaces. It has been designed to meet the requirements of modern, lightweight and transparent architecture.

Reynaers’ participation at Buildex 2012 comes as part of its intensive efforts to strengthen the Reynaers brand in the Saudi market, where it is seeing its products utilised on landmarks such as the C 180 tower under construction in Jeddah, following earlier major successes such as the Ramada Hotel and Sehamia Tower in Al Khobar.

The regional office of the company, established in 2004 as a joint venture, is part of the Belgium-based Reynaers Aluminium, a leading specialist in the development and marketing of innovative and sustainable aluminium solutions for windows, doors, curtain-walling, sliding systems, sun-screening and conservatories.

The European company has recently completed the expansion of its Reynaers Institute, its training, testing and research facility, with the launch of the R-Cube, a rotatable climate simulator.

The R-Cube allows engineers to test curtain-walls, doors and windows on energy, thermal and air-tightness performances.

“Located next to the institute in Duffel (Belgium), the facility has been developed to provide state-of-the-art analyses on the performances of curtain-walls, doors and windows, allowing the product designers to develop even more sustainable and energy-efficient aluminium building solutions,” says Ali Khalaf, managing director of Reynaers Middle East.

The R-Cube allows construction to be exposed to a combination of different temperature, air-tightness, wind, humidity and sun conditions. This enables Reynaers engineers to compare and evaluate different solutions for sun shading, natural ventilation, types of glazing and building connections, in relation to different orientations of the building. Furthermore, solutions of double-skin facades can be studied in detail to assess comfort and energy performance.

The 2,800-sq-m Reynaers Institute accommodates highly sophisticated testing equipment including four large air, wind and water-testing rigs, cyclic and mechanical testing machines and an acoustic chamber. Every year, around 140 tests are performed in the institute, all according to European standards for quality, durability and reliability. Tests are performed on standard systems for certification, as well as on tailor-made solutions, specially designed for large projects.
