Isola showcases new pre-mixed cement plaster

01 June 2013

ARABIAN Chemical Industries (Isola), a manufacturer and supplier of construction chemicals and a first-time exhibitor at gulfBID, used the platform offered by the event to network with GCC companies.

General manager Ebrahim Sabba said that one of the many serious enquiries that Isloa received may translate into an order. “We are on the verge of closing a deal with a Saudi Arabian company,” he said.

At the event, Isola showcased its recently launched pre-mixed cement plaster/render Isolith R27, and polymer-enhanced tile grout Isojoint WR among other products.

Isolith R27 is a dry high-quality premixed plaster/render for plastering over brickwork, blocks and concrete surface. “It’s a blend of cement, graded sand and additives to improve workability, water retention and bond strength. It has a coarse texture and can be applied on exterior and interior walls at a bed thickness of 6 to 20 mm,” explained Pradeep Nair, senior sales engineer.

Isojoint WR is a specially formulated blend of cement, fillers, coloured pigments and polymer additives that only requires the addition of water at the site. “The grout has reduced water absorption properties and good abrasion resistance,” said Nair.

Other key Isola products on display included concrete admixtures, mortar plasticisers, non-shrink grouts, cement repair materials, epoxy floor coating, joint sealant tile adhesives, tile joint fillers, concrete bonding agents and readymade and pre-mix plaster.

Commenting on the Isola’s performance, Sabba said 2012 and the start of 2013 have been productive years for the company, which is working with the government on its various housing projects. “Our products are used in road construction, building of towers, villas and factories. We play a role from the start to finish in the construction of a building and even beyond that – repair and maintenance.”

Bahrain-based Isola is the chemical manufacturing division of Haji Hassan Al A’Ali Group of Companies.
