MORE than 20,000 visitors attended the 22nd Saudi Building and Interiors Exhibition (sbie) that concluded recently at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events, in Jeddah Saudi Arabia.

At the event held in April (14 to 17), more than 250 Saudi and international companies showcased at their latest building materials and hardware, climate control, construction equipment and tools, electricity and lighting, environmental conservation technology, marble, granite and stone, safety, security and fire prevention systems, water technology as well as waste management systems.

Zahoor Siddique, vice-president of the organiser Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions (ACE), said: “SBIE serves as an important business-to-business networking platform that complements the upbeat market conditions in Saudi Arabia.” He indicated that Saudi as well as international participants announced signing of major deals at the show.

Hosted by the Engineering and Construction Interest Group of Saudi Quality Council-Western Region in collaboration with ACE, the event dealt with a number of issues related to building materials and sustainability, intelligent and environment-friendly buildings, cost management, and value engineering and green buildings

The Construction Machinery Showcase, organised jointly between Dubai-based publishing house CPI and ACE, drew a lot of interest from traders and importers.
