1,663 exhibitors to attend Real Expo

MORE than 1,663 exhibitors will take part in Expo Real 2014, which is one of the largest B2B trade fairs for commercial real estate which will offer opportunities for networking, market orientation and obtaining valuable business contacts.

The 17th International Trade Fair for Property and Investment, Expo Real 2014 will be held this month (October 6 to 8) in Munich, Germany.

Exhibitors from across 68 countries will showcase their real estate product portfolios across a 64,000-sq-m exhibition space.

More than 36,000 participants are expected to attend the event that will feature 400 speakers.

Participants will include project developers and managers, investors and financiers, consultants and agents, architects and planners, corporate real estate managers and expansion managers as well as representatives from economic regions and cities.

 

Eight top projects vie for Wood prize

EIGHT projects have been shortlisted for the Wood Excellence Prize, which is making its debut at this year’s World Architecture Festival (WAF) to be held this month (October 1 to 3) in Singapore.

Sponsored by the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), the Wood Excellence Prize is the first of its kind to feature on WAF’s awards programme.

WAF is the largest annual festival and live awards programme for the global architecture community, which will take place at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.

The WAF awards will see practices from around the world compete across 28 individual award categories, which will be based on three main groups – completed buildings, landscape projects and future projects.

The winners of each category will vie for the coveted World Building of the Year award, presided over by the festival’s ‘super-jury’.

All winners will be honoured at an awards ceremony on October 3.

 

Big 5 Kuwait draws 200 exhibitors

MORE than 200 exhibitors from across the globe showcased their products at The Big 5 Kuwait expo last month (September 22 to 24).

A dozen country pavilions – including those from Italy, Turkey, Germany and Spain – were set up at the Kuwait International Fair, Kuwait for the event, said the organiser, dmg events Middle East.

The Big 5 Kuwait featured key sectors including materials, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment and a selection of plant, machinery and vehicles, and put special focus on educational features, as well as more international pavilions.

It also included a series of workshops and roundtables on a variety of topics such as technology in construction, building information modelling (BIM) and the design process, and innovations in concrete repair.
