FOLLOWING its successful participation at the previous Big 5 shows in Dubai, UAE-based Nahar will return this year with its wide range of Einwood composite products, which are manufactured by WPCC in Japan.

“We will be showcasing a vast range of composite products from Japan for various applications for flooring, pergolas, gazebos and cladding and will also be looking at expanding our horizons to the next level in terms of new markets,” says A Vakil, the CEO of Nahar.

“The Big 5 shows have been quite a landmark in this part of the world. The event sets the stage to engage with people from all over the world. The exposure that we receive is extremely beneficial for us and we look forward to the event every year. As always, we will take advantage of the show to boost our presence in the market and further expand our market share.

“The Big 5 will also help us meet our target to make inroads in untapped markets and with clientele such as developers, architects, consultants and end-users,” he adds.

Established in 2002, Nahar specialises in the supply and installation of all types of flooring, including parquets for interiors and decking for external applications using the best of brands from all over the world, according to Vakil.

Nahar has recently set up a first-of-its-kind theme villa in Dubai, under the brand Floors and Decks (FND).

“With its extraordinary display of parquet flooring from European brands for internal flooring and Japanese composite decking for external decking, it is a must-visit destination for flooring enthusiasts. Floors and Decks is a paradise for designers, architects and end-users featuring an exotic display of flooring to tickle your fancy. FND offers a wide variety of internal parquet such as solid, semi-solid and laminated from the best in Europe and WPCC products Japan – best suited for the climatic conditions of the Mena (Middle East and North Africa) region,” Vakil says.

Some of the projects the company has supplied to include the Beach Jumeirah and four prefabricated restaurants at Emaar Boulevard, both in Dubai; and the Yas Marina enhancement project and Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the business, he says: “With the economic scenario looking good globally and foreign investments flowing in (the region), growth has been steady. We have expanded many fold since our establishment. We have grown from one showroom to two and have added new high-quality products sourced from all over the world to our portfolio and we have also established a name for ourselves in the world of wooden flooring.”

“In the run-up to Expo 2020 and the improved economic outlook, there is a boom in the local market. New projects are under way and competition too is healthy, hence it’s a very vibrant atmosphere for business.”

Vakil points out that the economic slowdown is the thing of the past, the UAE economy is recovering with the construction industry projected to yield sustainable growth in the coming years.

“With the UAE GDP (gross domestic product) growing and the real estate index on the rise, the construction companies are surely expected to see upward graph in the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

“In 2011, the UAE had recorded the highest construction growth in the GCC which was about 51 per cent of the total GCC projects. By the end of 2020, the UAE will still be the number one country with the highest contribution in the construction industry with a real GDP growth,” he adds.

The company will showcase its products at Stand 8A351 at The Big 5.
