Intermat’s quality hailed by exhibitors

01 February 2014

EXHIBITORS at the 2014 edition of Intermat Middle East hailed the event as a success and a “quality” show.  Organised by Comexposium in collaboration with Clarion Events Middle East, the event ran from January 14 to 16 at  the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Now in its third edition, Intermat Middle East consisted of indoor and outdoor exhibition areas with the world’s leading companies in construction machinery, materials and equipment industry participating, including national pavilions from France, the UK, Italy, Korea, and the Netherlands.

Andrea Bonomi, the export area manager of Italy’s Carmix – Metalgalante, said: “Our participation has been successful and fruitful. Even though the size of the exhibition was not huge, we were extremely satisfied, especially with the quality of the people that attended this exhibition.”

Clarence Jacobson, the products and marketing director of Sweden’s Oryx Simulations, said: “We decided to come here because it is a very interesting market. Even though the number of visitors has been small, we have had a number of quality leads to build relationships on.”

Intermat Middle East was supported by the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) and the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA).

The event also featured workshops on Abu Dhabi’s EHS (environmental health and safety) management system, EHS construction management plan, Bobcat TLS training, fire hazard and prevention, demolition, portable powered tools, powered lift trucks, and chemical safety.

The last day of the show also saw a workshop conducted by Ihab Bassiounni, the UAE country manager of Grey Matters (group of companies) on the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association’s (NRMCA) Concrete Technologist Middle East (CTME) certification programme titled ‘Supplementary Cementitious Materials in Concrete’.
