Sustainable solutions power Wetex

01 May 2015

Solar technology was at the forefront of last month’s Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (Wetex 2015), held in Dubai, UAE.

The organiser Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) dedicated an entire hall at Wetex 2015 to local and global firms showcasing solar energy technologies.

Exhibitors at the hall included the Middle East Solar Industry Association (Mesia), which aims to expand the use of solar power in the region, strengthen the local solar industry, and facilitate business opportunities for its members.

In collaboration with several major firms, Mesia arranged 11 workshops and lectures over the course of the show, to discuss solar energy and its importance.

Other participants who showcased industry-leading solar energy solutions and projects included Alsa Solar Systems, which displayed solar panels and street lighting powered by solar energy,  Enviromena Power Systems, which showcased an installation of solar panels on surfaces in Qatar, Kyocera Solar, which spotlighted solar energy production tools, and Yingli Solar, which exhibited large solar panels and showed off several projects built with a vision for “clean renewable energy for all”.
