Dubai hosts Hospital Design forum
Challenges and future expansion plans of regional hospitals were revealed at the Hospital Design and Infrastructure Conference held in Dubai, UAE, last month (April 19 to 22).
More than 20 influential healthcare speakers took part in the four-day event and discussed advancements in the design and construction of hospitals.
Leading healthcare regulators, operators, architects and engineers participated and shared unique approaches, advancements, applications and outcomes in facility planning, design and construction to develop unique healthcare built environment processes and build state-of-the-art healthcare systems.
Hospital Design and Infrastructure included workshops on evidence-based design application, lean methodologies and simulations, and the human aspect of design.
A number of round table discussions also featured issues related to design elements required for building healthcare facilities.
Sustainability focus of summit
The Middle East’s largest smart cities summit was held in Doha, Qatar last month (April 13 and 14) with sustainable urban development as the core theme.
The fourth Annual Arab Future Cities Summit Qatar 2015, which took place at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, was attended by more than 350 executives, government officials, developers, urban planners, investors, academics, and cutting-edge technologists from across the GCC.
The two-day summit featured more than 20 sessions and a panel discussion in which local and international speakers participated, said Expotrade, the organiser.
The summit discussed a range of issues including smarter cities enabled through IoT (Internet of Things), energy efficiency and government initiatives and sustainable infrastructure, ICT innovation and telecommunications.
Arabian MEP spotlights latest trends
More than 6,500 engineers and decision-makers discussed the latest trends in the MEP (mechanical engineering plumbing) industry and application of green technologies at Arabian MEP Conference and Exhibition held last month (April 6 to 8) in Bahrain.
Spread over 8,000 sq m, the show was held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC). The event focused on boosting the markets and promote quality and sustainability in the MEP services offered.
It showcased the latest heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) technologies as well as a look at advances in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, insulation, refrigeration and automation products and services in the region.
