The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) plans to build a new headquarters in Muscat.

The building in Bausher will have five to six floors and house offices, conference halls and an underground parking, the Muscat Daily reported.

Construction is expected to start in the beginning of 2017 and complete by the second half of 2018. The chamber expects to announce the construction contract by the end of the year.

The current OCCI building in the central business district dates back to the 1970s.
