Work starts on $272m mall

01 May 2017

LuLu Group International has launched work on a new 2.3-million-sq-ft mall costing Dh1 billion ($272 million) at the hi-tech Dubai Silicon Oasis in Dubai.

The foundation stone for the new state-of-the-art mall was laid by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO).

Leveraging best-in-class standards and green building concepts, the Silicon Mall at Dubai Silicon Oasis will feature a futuristic façade and sky-lit corridors offering natural light on all floors. The mall will offer covered parking for up to 3,000 cars across two levels.

With easy access to the Dubai Expo site and the new Al Maktoum International Airport, the new mall is poised to become a popular destination for both residents and tourists in Dubai’s vibrant retail landscape.

In addition to more than 300 international and local stores, and 12 anchor stores, the mall will also house a LuLu Hypermarket and Department Store on two levels. Other key attractions include the biggest family entertainment centre spread across 70,000 sq ft and more than 50 food and beverage outlets and entertainment offerings.

Work on the project will be completed in a period of 30 months, in time for the launch of Dubai Expo 2020.
