Imkan starts work on key projects

Imkan, a UAE-based property developer, said work has started on three of its big projects in Abu Dhabi – Makers District, Nudra and Sheikha Fatima Park.

At Makers District, an 18-hectare master-planned development on Reem Island, Imkan said National Marine Dredging Company had nearly completed the reclamation of six hectares of land for public use. As per the schedule, the enabling works for Pixel, the creative residential component of the district will begin shortly.

Imkan has also started excavation on its Nudra development in the Cultural District on Saadiyat Island. At Sheikha Fatima Park, leading local contractor Al Fara’a has commenced preliminary works, following the recent contract award.

 

Mace-Jacobs in Expo 2020 deal

Leading consultancy and construction company Mace said its joint venture with technical professional services firm Jacobs has been appointed as the British government’s delivery partner for the UK Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

As per the deal, Mace and Jacobs will act as the Department for International Trade’s delivery partner, managing the design, procurement and construction of the pavilion in the run-up to the opening of the gala show.

The Mace/Jacobs joint venture is currently also delivering design, construction and operations management for the wider Expo 2020 Dubai host site. Mace was appointed to Expo 2020 in 2014 and now has more than 80 staff working on the programme from its regional hub office in Dubai, said the company. 

 

Caesars Palace for Bluewaters 

CAESARS Entertainment Corporation of the US has entered into an agreement with Meraas Holdings to manage two luxury hotels and a beach club at the latter’s Bluewaters Island development in Dubai.

In late 2018, Bluewaters Island is expected to become home to Caesars Palace Bluewaters Dubai and Caesars Bluewaters Dubai – both of which will represent Caesars Entertainment’s first non-gaming resorts.

These two resort hotels will include 479 five-star rooms. A variety of modern amenities will be a part of the experience including a beach club, Caesars Beach Club Bluewaters Dubai, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa with a dedicated wellness centre and space for meetings and conventions.
