The signs are all there: Saudi Arabia is on the threshold of a transformative era that will see a cultural renaissance in the country and its doors open to international investment and tourism. In line with its ambitions, the kingdom is trying to create a new image that has certainly piqued the interest of a global audience.






Progress on the $22.5-billion Riyadh Metro, which when completed will be one of the world’s largest integrated public transport systems, continues apace. The project, spanning six lines and covering a total of 176 km, is more than two-thirds complete, and last month (April) saw the first trainset trials on two short test sections.






The architectural design for a world-class energy industry hub that will take shape in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia is now 20 per cent complete, with site preparation work having commenced last September.

Abunayyan Trading Corporation (ATC) has supplied dozens of JCB machines and other machinery for the maintenance of Yanbu city after winning a major government tender. The order included 29 JCB machines, 23 attachments, and 36 trucks, which were supplied to Yanbu Municipality.






AlKifah Holding has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Schneider Electric to digitise its processes to enable it to optimise its activities and keep pace with the latest trends in its field. The company is focused on using the latest automation technologies and energy management in all its facilities and operations.
