DANAOS PROJECTS
01 November 2018
Danaos Projects, a pioneer in digital construction management, will be showcasing various software solutions for a wide array of applications at The Big 5 this month.
The company is the developer of ProjectView, a comprehensive capital project management and construction cost management expert system, says Christos Em-manouilidis, export manager for Danaos Projects.
“ProjectView assists contractors in estimating and controlling daily costs and pro-gress along with the risk of their projects, from tendering to execution. It captures data, digitilises office and site processes and utilises project management artificial intelligence,” he explains, adding the nature of the product itself – the artificial intelligence, big data analytics, telematics (M2M) and the digital collaboration – re-sponds to the major technological trends.
As an integrated construction ERP (enterprise resource planner), ProjectView is seamlessly connected with Primavera and is VAT ready, he adds.
In addition to ProjectView, at this year’s Big 5, Danaos Projects will be showcasing e-Procurement for materials providing an international materials’ cost databank; a new quantity-take-off module for 2D quick measuring of PDFs, DWGs and JPEGs; new telematics module for yellow machine usability; and a facility management tool for the FM industry.
Emmanouilidis sees unparalleled opportunities for the expansion of the construction industry in the GCC.
He says new infrastructure developments empowered by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the UAE Expo 2020 can result in a new exponential construction growth model that will include technology as the main catalyst.
“The modernisation of the construction industry requires the adoption of new IT systems in order to achieve efficiency, increased productivity, expedite the busi-ness and stay ahead of the competition. Therefore, we foresee Danaos Projects’ Project View Cost Control and ERP Solution becoming necessary tools for all construction companies,” he adds.
Emmanouilidis also anticipates an increase in public-private partnership (PPP) projects in the future.
He says: “Construction companies will also be more involved in construction management, overseeing individual contractors, who will be specialised in specific tasks and activities.
In the technology domain, Emmanouilidis says there will be increasing use of business information modelling (BIM); cost control through quality management and construction management software tools; and drone inspection (for site monitoring).
Danaos Projects will be exhibiting at Stand Z6G38, New Zabeel Hall 6.
