Panasonic eco-friendly air-conditioners unveiled

01 July 2019

Panasonic, a global leader in efficient and innovative air-conditioning solutions, has recently unveiled its latest line-up of 11 air-conditioners for the Omani market that comply with the new energy efficiency regulations in the sultanate.

Launched in collaboration with its local partner Oman Marketing and Services Company (Omasco), the new range air-conditioner models are built with an eco-friendly, non-ozone-layer-depleting R410A refrigerant, and engineered for maximum performance and reliability with high energy efficiency.

According to Deepak Krishnan, deputy general manager, PMMAF (Panasonic Marketing Middle East and Africa FZE), the company has been consistently focused on its environmental responsibility.

He says: “The launch of these highly energy-efficient R410A air-conditioner models is in line with our committed efforts of leading the way in providing efficient, responsible air solutions to our customers in Oman.”

The new line-up is led by the Elite V Series models, which boast powerful cooling technologies.

Through Panasonic’s latest air-conditioning innovation Jetstream, the air-conditioners achieve a maximum airflow length of 25 m, thus providing users with a comfortable space and optimal room temperature wherever they may be in the room, according to the Japanese manufacturer.

The cross flow fan of the air-conditioners produces a powerful airflow from a small amount of energy, thereby ensuring exceptional energy saving performance, it adds. Panasonic is currently highlighting the powerful cooling and high energy efficiency of this technology during its ongoing ‘Conquer Summer’ campaign in the UAE.

“These improvements have been a result of using much faster and more efficient rotary ‘Ninja’ compressors, which realise ultra-quick start-up and less energy losses,” says Krishnan.

The V Series air-conditioners are also built with Aerowings, which are flexible twin flaps that can direct and concentrate airflow to cool an area effectively.

There is also the Nanoe-G feature that cleans the air by eliminating bacteria, viruses, and even PM2.5 (atmospheric particulate matter that has a diameter of less than 2.5 micrometers) from the room air, as well as the Econavi, which uses sensor technology to monitor the room in order to achieve smart air-conditioning that matches the room environment.

In addition to the Jetstream technology, Panasonic air-conditioners are designed with a level of durability that delivers high performance even under the harsh environment of regions such as the Middle East. Tough specifications allow them to withstand operating temperatures up to 55 deg C, and prevent the entry of sand and dust.

Moreover, the condenser fins are specially blue-coated to enhance durability. These specially coated layers serve as protection against corrosion from air, water and other corrosive agents.

Apart from the above features, the units even allow flexible installation options for taller apartment blocks with its industry-best piping length capabilities of 30 m total and 20 m vertical.

“Our R&D (research and development) focuses on addressing customer needs and this is why we always strive to meet their growing aspirations and deliver a new level of convenience,” says Krishnan.

“Quality is at the core of all our manufacturing and we make sure that Panasonic air-conditioners comply with all required industrial standards and regulations.  Other unique features, such as our pioneering Nanoe technology, the Econavi sensor technology for smart energy saving and the blue-coated condenser fins to enhance the air-conditioners durability – all of these improvements have been developed in order to live up to our reputation for high-quality Japanese craftmanship,” Krishnan adds.

Commenting on the new air-conditioners, Navin Batta, head of operations at Omasco, says: “Panasonic designed these new R410A models making sure that performance, reliability and sustainability all blend in perfectly together. These are exciting new solutions that the customers and the market will truly benefit from.”

In addition to the Elite V Series, Panasonic also debuted other R410A models, including the Premium PV Series, Deluxe KV Series, and Standard RV Series.
