Hitachi Construction Machinery Eurasia has launched three new Zaris-5A series of wheeled excavators that are designed to perform various tasks in general construction projects even under severe working conditions.
The excavators – the ZX170W-5A, ZX190W-5A and ZX210W-5A – have an operating weight ranging from 16,800 kg up to 21,600 kg. The load capacity of these machines was increased by six per cent for the ZX210W-5A and by seven per cent for the ZX170W-5A and ZX190W-5A, compared to the previous Zaxis-3 series machines. The bucket capacity is 0.6 to 0.9 cu m depending on the model.
According to a company spokesman, the Zaxis-5A excavators are equipped with a 152-hp new-generation Isuzu engine, compliant with Tier 3 standard, and a HIOS III hydraulic system.
“Their combined work helps to provide a higher level of performance with greater fuel economy in comparison with models of the previous generation Zaxis-3. For example, fuel consumption in the ZX210W-5A model has decreased by 14 per cent in the PWR mode.”
He says the fuel system of new 5A generation was greatly improved compared with the ZX-3, which had a positive impact on engine reliability, and adds that, on the Chinese market, where fuel quality is not so good, the ZX-5A series machines have been demonstrating good performance since 2013.
During this time, engines with the improved fuel system have proved its own high reliability and productivity.
The Power Boost function – available on all new models – enables to increase the digging force by 10 per cent and keep it at that level for up to eight seconds. This function contributes to faster and easier excavation.
The maximum travel speed of ZX170W-5A and ZX190W-5A excavators is 35 kmph, and of the ZX210W-5A is 27.5 kmph.
For operator comfort, the excavator cab has become more spacious. The wide doorway, ample legroom and the variety of seat adjustments creates comfortable conditions for a long work day. The cab is also equipped with an air-conditioning system.
Visibility on the right has become better due to a compact monitor, and a rear view camera provides wider visibility of the rear, covering almost the entire space under the counterweight.
In addition, the image from the rear-view camera and the status indicators of the systems are simultaneously displayed on the screen. As a result, the operator is not distracted by having to switching between display modes and pays more attention to safety.
Simplified maintenance procedures minimise downtime. A multifunctional monitoring system displays a wide range of technical information important for the operator.
All three models of the new Zaxis-5A series are available for purchase from official dealers of Hitachi Construction Machinery Eurasia.
