The Wirtgen Group will be presenting many ground-breaking solutions for road construction at Conexpo-Con/Agg 2020, North America’s largest construction trade show, which will be held next month (March 10 to 14) in Las Vegas.
At the show, the group will be focusing on innovative machines and technologies for road construction, road rehabilitation, mining and processing of minerals and mineral raw materials as well as for recycling of construction materials.
Cold milling machine specialist Wirtgen is staging the world premiere of its W 250 Fi and W 220 F which round out its new generation of large milling machine. The new machines lead the pack of more than 30 exhibits, including 10 world and North American premieres that will be showcased at the leading exhibition.
The new W 220 Fi and W 250 Fi machines serve a wide range of applications at a maximum milling depth of 14 inches, right from surface course rehabilitation and fine milling work to complete removal of the surface, according to Wirtgen.
Various drive concepts are available to ensure maximum, optimal milling performance.
The two models are exceptionally powerful with an engine power of 1,010 hp for the W 250 Fi and 801 hp for the W 220 Fi.
In automatic mode, the Mill Assist standard assistance system provides the optimal balance between performance and operating costs, improving milling performance, and reducing diesel, water, and pick consumption, as well as carbon dioxide emissions. Mill Assist automatically controls the two-speed dual shift powershift transmission. In combination with the diesel engine, the milling drum speeds can be increased or decreased.
At Conexpo-Con, Wirtgen will pair its two W 210 Fi and W 207 Fi large milling machines with the W 380 CRi cold recycler as a recycling train.
The intelligent machines of the “F series” help operators to maintain an optimum balance between performance, quality and costs, says the company.
Other Wirtgen Group companies that will be showcasing their new products for the road construction and paving sector at the show include Vogele, Hamm and Kleeman.
According to a spokesman for the company, the Wirtgen Group’s trade show booth in Las Vegas will proudly showcase ‘Innovation. Performance. Partners’ with its impressive 10 new machines unveiled for the first time at the trade show, highlighting the innovative strength of the group of companies.
Vögele will be unveiling its software-based application Witos Paving Docu. This innovative solution was designed specifically for contractors who want to capture and analyse more data than just the paving temperature – but don’t need the full scope of Witos Paving Plus, which includes process optimisation with integrated pre-planning.
Hamm, a specialist for asphalt and soil compaction, will unveil its new HP 180i pneumatic-tyred roller, the DV+ 90i VV-S tandem roller and the H 20i C P remote-controlled compactor with padfoot drum, new thrust shield, and impressive gradeability.
Meanwhile, another group company Kleemann, a specialist for mobile crushing and screening plants, will exhibit its latest Mobicat MC 120 Z Pro jaw crusher and the Mobiscreen MS 952 Evo mobile screening plant.
To emphasise that it’s a part of John Deere and to highlight the synergies across the entire product range, at its trade show booth, the Wirtgen Group will exhibit a John Deere 824L wheel loader filling the MS 952 Evo mobile screening plant from Kleemann.
