Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE’s integrated railway network, has launched the construction works of Package A of Stage Two of the pan-emirates railway network. Package A will run 139 km long from Ghuweifat on the UAE-Saudi Arabia border to Ruwais in Abu Dhabi, where it connects with Stage One of the network.






Starting this year, Abu Dhabi aims to retrofit 150 governmental buildings to improve their energy efficiency, following the completion of the first Energy Saving Performance Contracting (ESPC) pilot project encompassing eight retrofitted government buildings.






The 800-MW third phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MBR) Solar Park will be operational in April, said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa).






Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) plans to start a trial-run of drones in inspecting Dubai Metro tunnels that extend 14 km on both the Red and Green lines, said the director-general and chairman of RTA.

Dubai Municipality has awarded Besix the contract to build the Al Qusais Landfill Gas-to-Energy project and operate it over 16.5 years. The renewable energy project consists of capturing the gas from the landfill at Al Qusais in Dubai and treating it to produce electricity.






Abu Dhabi-based crane service provider Delta Gulf Group said it has taken delivery of its first Demag AC 250-5 all-terrain crane. The new crane’s compactness is highly advantageous for projects in the oil fields of Abu Dhabi. It was handed over by regional Demag sales manager Sahil Shaikh.






Sewa powers over 1,700 projects THE Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) said it has provided power connections to 1,741 new projects during 2019 covering key residential, industrial, commercial, governmental and agricultural categories across the city.
