Leading Abu Dhabi developer Imkan has unveiled its one-bedroom show apartment at Pixel, a seven-tower complex within Makers District development, one of the UAE’s newest mixed-use hubs on Reem Island.
Located in Makers District’s contemporary sales centre, the fully furnished show apartment is a typical one-bedroom unit that will be available within the seven-tower community. The apartment boasts a simple, relaxing, modern interior space, reflecting the project’s vision for stunning homes and inspiring architecture, all set within a dynamic urban environment, says Imkan.
The entire community has been designed in partnership with award-winning Dutch architectural firm MVRDV.
Once complete, Pixel will be home to 525 contemporary apartments ranging from studios to four-bedroom units. A mixed-use development, Pixel will also house boutique office units and retail and food and beverage (F&B) outlets across the entire ground floor of the fully pedestrianised central plaza, creating a vibrant and dynamic working and living hub.
“The ethos of Pixel is evident in its design, with its architecture encapsulating digitalism, the future, technology, innovation and creativity. It is with great pleasure that we announce the opening of the Pixel show apartment and invite prospective buyers to our Reem Island sale centre to experience for themselves Pixel’s captivating aesthetics, state-of-the-art facilities and outstanding build quality,” remarks Imkan CEO Walid El Hindi.
“Prioritising the comfort and peace of Pixel’s residents, particularly its first tranche of homeowners, Imkan has committed to build all seven towers simultaneously so that new occupiers won’t be living in an environment of ongoing construction,” he states.
The company believes that maximising the customer experience is something that suffuses every aspect of its operations, he adds.
Design Director Nigel Craddock says: “Putting the human experience first is the philosophy at the core of Imkan’s operations. This is transparent not only with our construction agenda, but also with the internationally-renowned companies we choose to partner with.”
“A main element of Imkan’s unique approach involves harmonising communal spaces such as parks, paths and parking areas, with private residential spaces, resulting in an ergonomic community-based design which seamlessly integrates all components,” he adds.
Imkan says work was under way to complete Pixel’s various communal areas that have been designed to connect community members, whilst also giving them space to enjoy their own company.
A central focal point of the development is its pedestrianised plaza, which encompasses the concept of ‘walkability’ and the fortuitous results that often follow chance encounters, it states.
Pixel is just one of Imkan’s Makers District developments that are creating a new panoramic skyline along Reem Island’s picturesque waterfront.
Located in a prime spot for artistic inspiration, Makers District is just across the water from some of the UAE capital’s famous cultural landmarks, including the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the site of the planned Guggenheim Abu Dhabi.
Future phases of the Makers District masterplan include a waterfront boutique hotel and a series of residential developments that will deliver a total of 3,700 units across the entire development, also incorporating F&B outlets and co-working spaces. Pixel is scheduled for final completion in 2021, it adds.
