$11m revamp at Sharjah Airport

The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) has announced the opening of the new facilities built as part of East Expansion project at a cost of Dh40 million ($11 million).

These facilities, which extend over a 4,000-sq m-area and are a qualitative addition to the airport, have been completed as part of the comprehensive expansion plan to raise the airport’s capacity to 20 million passengers by 2025, said SAA.

The special service hall underwent comprehensive renovations to upgrade the level of services provided by the airport. Other facilities renovated and developed include food and beverage outlets as well as a duty-free shop and nine waiting areas, security scanning equipment and rooms and facilities for people with reduced mobility.

 

3,000 Sheikh Zayed Housing units

Work is currently under way on 3,018 residential units being developed under the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme. These homes will be delivered between 2020 and 2022, said Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.

Already five housing districts comprising 1,490 houses have been built under the scheme, stated Al Mazrouei, who is also the Chairman of the board of directors of Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.

Since its establishment over 20 years ago, the programme has catered to 33,838 Emirati families, through offering housing support and constructing comprehensive housing districts, stated the minister.

 

Azizi’s Dubai Riviera takes shape

UAE-based Azizi Developments has announced steady progress within its stylish waterfront-lifestyle destination, Riviera, located in the heart of MBR City in Dubai.

Nearly 60 per cent of the work has been implemented on Phase One of the project, while Phase Two is 41 per cent and Phase Three is 22 per cent completed, it says.

The French Mediterranean-inspired community, which is part of Meydan, will boast a total of 16,000 residences and are spread across three districts.

Executive Director (Engineering Division) Mohamed Ragheb Hussein said: “We are delighted to be completing the first of the buildings in Phase One by year’s end, with many more to follow within the first quarter of 2021.”
