Whether it is high-rise construction or linear waterfront developments, formwork solutions from Paschal-Werk G Maier have helped several contractors in Bahrain to meet the specifications and tight deadlines set for their projects, says Paschal Concrete Forms, the German formwork manufacturer’s regional office.

Among the challenging projects that Paschal systems are currently helping shape is the architecturally-striking 34-storey Wave Tower in Hidd, which is being built by Bahrain-based contracting firm Saleh Abdulla Kameshki.

“The tower has column sizes varying from 200 by 60 cm to 285 and 80 cm. Saleh Abdulla Kameshki is therefore, using Paschal’s multi-column formwork system (adjustable column) with a panel size of 90 cm by 330 cm as well as Paschal Deck slab formwork system with props and our Heavy Duty (HD) Frame system support at double-height areas,” says Amir Delghandi, general director of Paschal Concrete Forms.

The contractor has recently completed the three-storey Once Mall in Isa Town using Paschal’s Modular formwork for the construction of its retaining wall, columns and core walls; and the Deck system HD Frame for shaping the new mall’s impressive double-height area and props in other areas for support.

Another Bahrain-based contractor Kooheji Contractors is working on the 29-storey Seef Avenue 2 residential building, where Paschal Modular system is being utilised to form the columns and core walls while Paschal Deck with props is being used for the slabs.  The contractor is also using Paschal’s Modular system with supporting jack for the construction of the 3.5-m-high single-side retaining wall at Seef Boulevard which extends over a length of 214 m.

Kooheji Contractors had earlier used Paschal systems for the construction of the striking 42-storey Onyx at Bahrain Bay, the 27-storey headquarters for Sayacorp (previously known as First Energy Bank) at the entrance of Bahrain Financial Harbour, and a multi-purpose hall at the Canadian School in Diyar Al Muharraq,

Meanwhile, Santy Excavation and Construction is currently engaged in the construction of Galali Waterfront, where Paschal Modular system was used for the construction of the 4-m-high retaining wall which extends over a 1.8-km stretch; and the construction of the columns, shear wall and core walls of a seven-storey residential building at Al Madinah Al Shamaliya (Northern City) or Salman City. Earlier, it deployed Paschal’s modular system for the erection of water tanks at the city near Budaiya.

Other contractors using the German formwork include Ammari Contracting, which is utilising Paschal Modular and Deck system for the columns, reinforced concrete wall and slab of a three-storey luxury villa in Hidd.

Some of the recent major projects where Paschal formwork was deployed to ensure top-quality concrete works were Alba’s spent pot lining (SPL) treatment plant; the 20-storey Kazerooni Heights 2 in Amwaj; the 41-storey Burj Kadi in Juffair; the 12-storey Hanging Gardens in Dilmunia; the Multiple Sclerosis Centre (an offshoot of Muharraq Medical Complex); the water storage and transmission facilities at Al Dur Forwarding Station; and water tanks at Salman Town and Dilmunia.

Paschal is a sought-after partner for concrete projects worldwide, with customers in more than 40 countries and 50 years of experience.

Paschal Concrete Forms was established in Bahrain in January 1998, and since then Paschal has emerged as a leading supplier of modern formwork solutions to the region’s contractors. The company’s Modular universal formwork and the Paschal Deck system for slab formwork have especially proved popular in the region.

Based at BIIP in Hidd, Paschal Concrete Forms has an assembling facility for modular formwork and a stockyard in Bahrain. In addition, with a branch office in Dubai, Paschal is strongly represented in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
