ETA involved on high-end interiors

01 MARCH 2001

The Interiors Division of Dubai-based ETA manufactured and installed a wide range of joinery items for the Al Wasl Complex in Dubai.

Under an order worth over Dh2 million ($545,000), the company supplied flush, fixed and panel doors, kitchen units, gazebos and benches for the prestigious development.

''We were involved on the project from the time of its inception and completed our order on time and in budget,'' says Anthony Powell, business development manager.

The recently-restructured interiors division of ETA is currently involved on several turnkey projects for high-end interiors worth around $20 million.

This list also includes the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai where several packages are awarded.

Powell states that ETA Interiors completes a wide section of projects including high quality projects for joinery right through to total interiors.

''Although we originally started out as a joinery, woodworking and turnkey contractor, the nature of the business demands a more eclectic approach to contracting and procurement. Thus for a bid package for a hotel this would include fabrics, lighting systems, draperies etc - all of which are procured globally,'' he says.

ETA's interior division will be moving shortly to a new complex within Al Quoz, Dubai, which will accommodate its 300-plus designers, engineers as well as fabricators and joiners.

ETA Interiors is a division of the ETA Ascon group of companies which was established in 1972.

Established in 1981, ETA Interiors specialises in total turnkey interiors, providing a wide choice of services to its varied clients. The company operates a strict health and safety programme together with quality control programmes and expects to achieve ISO 9002 certification shortly.

''These unparalleled resources empower the company to provide a high level of quality in interior contracting/interior fit-out and furniture for a wide variety of turnkey projects, on time and in budget, worldwide,'' Powell says. ''As a leading turnkey interiors contracting firm working with international designers, ETA Interiors is able to produce the quality required to the highest international standards.''

The company, which has its own manufacturing facilities with computer-controlled state-of-the-art machinery, produces complete interiors for hotels, restaurants, cinemas, auditoriums, shopping malls, retail outlets, banks and offices.

Powell continues: ''Interiors is a labour-intensive business. The UAE and the other Gulf countries are fast growing markets where hospitality areas are increasing at an annual rate of 14 per cent.''

He anticipates that ETA will increase its market share in this and other sectors in the UAE and Gulf region expanding from projects already completed in Moscow, Tanzania, Mauritius and Libya.
