ETA-Melco Elevator Company is a joint venture company between Emirates Trading Agency, Dubai and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, having its head office in Dubai and branch/associated offices in Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Turkey, Sri Lanka, Maldives, India, Bangladesh and CIS countries.

ETA Melco represents Mitsubishi vertical transportation equipment in all these territories. Its activities cover design, marketing, supply, installation and maintenance of all types of vertical transportation equipment. It employs well-qualified, and experienced engineers and technicians, trained in Japan by Mitsubishi engineers and also in the UAE. ETA Melco has more than 1,200 technicians and about 250 engineers and other supporting staff on its rolls. It also has two Japanese engineers from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, stationed in Dubai to support the technical, quality control and training requirements of the company.

ETA Melco enjoys a "preferred supplier status" in all its operating areas. This status has been achieved by the firm due to the following reasons:

  • The very high-quality products of Mitsubishi; its technological edge over its competitors; constant innovations and its ability to supply superior products to the marketplace;

  • Excellent pre-sales and after-sales service provided by ETA Melco; high quality installation and maintenance works, timely completion of its projects etc.

    Many clients who had, on account of lower prices, purchased the products of other elevator manufacturers have suffered over a period of time due to the bad quality of purchased equipment or the services rendered. They have then turned to ETA Melco to replace those elevators.

    ETA Melco offers comprehensive maintenance scheme by which, it undertakes to maintain the equipment inclusive of replacement of all spare parts and attend to call-back services, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It has over 7,400 elevators under comprehensive maintenance scheme, through which, it is maintaining the equipment inclusive of spare parts.

    It also has stock approximately $3.8 million worth of spare parts, to cater to demands of the elevators under its maintenance.

    Most of ETA Melco's clients hold comprehensive maintenance contracts with them. A few clients who had opted for the maintenance of outside agencies thinking that they are saving costs due to their lower prices have realised that ETA Melco maintenance gives them "value for their money" and that ETA Melco's output is far ahead of those outside agencies and hence have returned to ETA Melco's comprehensive maintenance scheme.

    Some of ETA Melco's recent major projects include Burj Al Arab, Emirates Towers, Dubai International Airport, Abu Dhabi Trade Centre, Hyatt Regency Hotel projects at Delhi and Bombay in India, Cankaya Hotel in Turkey and Qatar City Centre in Qatar.

    ETA Melco is today the largest elevator company in the Gulf and is popularly know as "The elevator people of the Gulf". During the past 25 years of its existence, ETA Melco has sold more than 11,800 units, out of which about 9,400 units have been installed.

    ETA Melco Elevator Company has added another feather in its cap with the installation of innovative elevators at the Al Wasl Complex.

    The Al Wasl Complex, which houses the Citibank, is served by what are described as 15 high-class elevators. Eight of these elevators provide vertical transportation in the low-rise section while seven serve the high-rise tower block.

    ETA Melco's distinctive quality and workmanship, which are the hallmarks of its elevator/escalator installations, can be witnessed in this project, given their sophistication in design, exceptionally graceful ride and the never-before finishes.

    Unparalleled in performance, the elevators have enhanced the functionality of the premises with their state-of-the-art technology. The operations as well as the aesthetics of the elevators are to be seen and experienced.

    The elevators are equipped with PM (permanent magnet motors) which help save power and lower environmental pollution due to reductions in noise levels in the machine rooms. The AI-2100N artificial intelligence and

    data network system with applied neural networks ensures that waiting times are greatly reduced.

    The sleek interiors of the elevators enhance riding comfort while being eye-catching with the use of honeycomb marble - pioneered by ETA Melco for the cabin walls and solid marble flooring.

    The special high-quality marble with an attractive design selected by the consultant Arkiteknik was cut to size using innovative laser cutting tools and fixed by ETA Melco, which further enhances the beauty of the elevators.
