Recent major contracts

01 December 2001

  • August 1999 - $25.95 million contract for the infrastructure and services to the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) campus. Work on the project started in the same month and is due for completion this month.

  • January 2000 - $14.5 million contract from the Commercial Real Estate Company for the construction of a residential building (see separate article).

  • April 2000 - $15.84 million contract for work on Phase II of the new Mowasat Hospital. This private 250-bed hospital project includes all structural and architectural works as well as extensive stone and exotic hardwood finishes.

  • April 2000 - $14.51 million contract from the Ministry of Public Works for the extension to the Al-Sulaibiya-Kabd Road. The contract, which involves conversion of the existing 22-km road into a dual carriage way and the laying of approximately 40 km of steel pipes for fresh water, will be completed in December.

  • May 2000 - $10.14 million deal from the Ministry of Interior for the construction of Phase I of the Police Officers Club in Abu Al Hasaniya area (see separate article).

  • May 2000 - $14.07 million contract from Kuwait Oil Company for the construction of its new main three-storey office building in Ahmadi (see separate article).

  • December 2000 - $8.27 million contract to construct the Combined Weapons Station at Ahmed Al Jaber Airbase for the Ministry of Defence and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Completion of this project is scheduled for July 30, 2002.

  • December 2000 - a $9.75 million contract from the Ministry of Public Works to maintain road systems throughout Kuwait City.

  • January 2001 - $10.70 million contract from the Ministry of Public Works for the construction of the headquarters for the Public Institution for Social Security in West Mishref (see separate article).

  • March 2001 - $30 million contract by the Jordanian Ministry of Public Health to construct the 400-bed Prince Hamzeh Hospital in Amman. Completion of this project is expected in January, 2005, however, if a contingency for expanding this to 500 beds is exercised, completion will be extended.

  • October 2001- a $7.73 million contract for four new office buildings for Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC). Work on the project commenced on October 6 with total duration of 12 months.

  • October 2001 - $6.65 million contract to construct the new headquarters building for the International Al Murabaha Company. The project duration is 18 months.

  • November 2001 - a $14.5 million contract from the Ministry of Public Works for the construction of a treated water irrigation system and associated works, Burhan is awaiting a notice to proceed with the works.

  • November 2001 - $676,162 deal for package 3, involving the onshore culverts, on the Feheheel Waterfront Development scheme. Work on the project commenced on October 23 and the project is scheduled for completion by April 22, 2002.
