Modern Insulation Industries Company (MIIC) of Saudi Arabia is a specialist in thermal insulation for the power generation industry."MIIC has proved its diverse capabilities in a range of thermal insulation projects as well as its ability to successfully launch new products and services," says Khalid Masoud, the general manager of the Riyadh-based firm.
MIIC had successfully carried out diversified thermal insulation work on power plants within the Kingdom.
The company is currently busy with one of its biggest projects ever - involving the repair and replacement of thermal insulation in the exhaust systems at Riyadh's PP7 power plant.
MIIC recently signed co-corporation agreements with specialist companies across the Gulf for supplying turbine insulation blankets to their clients as well as providing them with dedicated thermal insulation services for chimneys, piping and equipment.
The company also markets specialist items such as ceramic fibres which are resistant to high temperatures, fire-resistant cement boards, wire mesh, fire-resistant cloth and insulation stabilisers, among other materials.
The ceramic fibres are imported from the US, China, UK, Germany, and Sweden, according to Masoud.
MIIC also owns and manages the Saudi Rockwool Factory and Aman Construction Chemicals Factory.
Saudi Rockwool Factory, which manufactures rockwool insulation with striking acoustic and fire-resistant properties, has been involved on a number of prestigious projects in the Kingdom and elsewhere in the GCC, Rockwool is produced in sheets, rolls, blankets, loose wool and pipe sections.
Rockwool has attained a niche market in Saudi Arabia as well as in the other GCC countries because of its suitability for use in the Gulf environment, and also because the material is totally natural as it is produced from basaltic rock, he says.
