Techno Lift of the UAE supplied a variety of hi-tech Schindler lifts for The Fairmont Dubai, including panoramic ones offering sweeping views of its majestic atrium.
The project was a demanding one that Techno Lift considered a great honour to be associated with, says a spokesman for the Dubai-based company.
"The elevators at the hotel have top-of-the-range drives, gearless machines, Schindler's state-of-the-art Miconic TX technology control and its Lobby Vision, remote monitoring and control system," he says.
"A major highlight of the hotel is its open central atrium which soars 135 m reaching the full height of the building," the spokesman says. "Eight Schindler panoramic lifts decorate and serve the majestic atrium, providing scenic views."
Techno Lift supplied and installed a total of 31 Schindler units for the project: 26 for the towers, four for the pedestrian bridge and one for the staff accommodation.
The tower is served by nine panoramic lifts, nine passenger lifts, seven service lifts and one hydraulic platform. Eight of the panoramic lifts have a capacity of 1,200 kg each, a speed of 2.5 mps serving 29 stops and a travel height of 129 m.
A variety of passenger lifts have been supplied with the following specifications:
The service lifts all have a capacity of 1,000 kg each, speed of 2.5 mps, and serve 36 stops and a travel height of 133 m.
"We are very gratefull to the client Shaikh Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his Private Office, the project manager Turner Steiner International, the consultant Khatib & Alami and the main contractor DCC-Arabtec for their support and co-operation which has enabled us achieve this successful milestone in our growth," he says.
"Impressed by our work, Dubai Contracting Company (DCC) has awarded us another prestigious high-rise project called the Capricorn Tower, where we will be installing 10 elevators," he adds.

"Techno Lift, with full support from Schindler, is in a position to provide effective solutions of vertical transportation for all types of buildings," the spokesman says. "Techno Lift provides support to architects, builders, planners and consultants right from the planning and design stage of the project. We also provide a 24-hour after-sales service, with dedicated teams and ample spare parts stock."
