TSSC caters to restaurant's needs

The consultants of the new Fairmont hotel evaluated their choices carefully before awarding Technical Supplies and Services Company (TSSC) to supply and fit out the new Multi-Menu Restaurant.

This fascinating restaurant is a new concept in Dubai that will pioneer the hospitality industry in the UAE by featuring as many as 10 different cuisines, which will be cooked right in front of the customer's eyes. This restaurant is as cosmopolitan as Dubai itself.

TSSC knew from its vast experience in the kitchen and laundry industry that this contract would be very challenging due to the high level of co-ordination required with installing industrial kitchen equipment aesthetically to suit the interior design of the outlet. However, TSSC worked day and night to complete the project to the satisfaction of the operators within the required time frame.

TSSC was formed in 1961 and has established itself as the leading manufacturer of industrial and commercial refrigerated solutions in the Gulf. Today, its range of quality equipment covers every requirement of the catering industry, including exceptional quality kitchen equipment and laundry systems.

It was in 1994 that TSSC expanded its operations into the food and laundry service industry and soon marked its presence in this increasingly specialised sector. Today supplying a comprehensive range of equipment from around the world, predominantly from Europe and the US, TSSC supplies, installs and services several prestigious restaurants, clubs, hotels, hospitals and other premier catering establishments in the region. Besides the Multi-Menu Restaurant at the Fairmont Hotel, this includes the new Grand Hyatt, Burj Al Arab, Royal Mirage, Oasis Hotel, Le Meridien chain of hotels and the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel.

Managing director Basil Bahar, who has over two decades of experience in the business, has been navigating the kitchen and laundry equipment division since its inception. Born in Baghdad, Bahar grew up in the US before returning to the Gulf and getting involved in the food service industry in the UAE. A dynamic outlook and excellent business strategies have seen the firm's sales soaring. The main ingredient to success is customer care and continuous monitoring of new trends in the catering and laundry industry.

The kitchen and laundry equipment division includes a CAD design team and on-site technical staff. TSSC works primarily from its Dubai office located on the Sheikh Zayed Road. Technical staff have been trained at the manufacturers' facilities of the equipment represented by TSSC, for example, Hoshizaki ice machines, Alto Shaam holding and cooking equipment, Meiko dishwashing systems, Franke coffee machines, Eloma combi steamers and many more.

Small products or heavy machinery, TSSC can oversee the project from design, supply to commissioning and hand over to the operator. The relationship is continued with the operator thereafter with a comprehensive maintenance plan, which generally continues even after the warranty period with a separate service contract. While its hotel supplies are restricted to the emirates, the company can arrange for the export and installation of any of its equipment.
