Sharjah-based Al Inthima Marble Company, set up in 1996 to undertake marble, granite, stones and ceramic tile installation, has broadened its horizons over the past six years to cover major projects in the UAE as well as in Bahrain.
"The company started operations with two masons and helpers and within a short span of six months established its name among notable marble and granite fixing firms," says a company spokesman. ''Today, the company employs a workforce of 35 masons and helpers. Besides, we also have four supervisors to oversee work at various projects. We also have four vehicles for transporting our staff from the various sites and camps.
Some of the projects the company has been involved in include Jamal Al Ghurair villas at Khawaneej, four buildings for Sheikh Hamdan at Al Ghusais, Holiday Inn Hotel and Warba Centre (all in Dubai); Bukhatir Tower at Sharjah Cornice, American University of Sharjah, Sharjah University, Lagoon project at Buhairah Cornice and a branch of the Commercial Bank of Dubai (all in Sharjah); a palace for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayyan in Al Ain and a 20-storey building on Electra Road, both in Abu Dhabi.; Gulf Medical College in Ajman; and all the branches of Dubai Islamic Bank at Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
Some the projects the company has executed in Bahrain include the Gulf Air building opposite Bahrain International Airport, Bahrain International Hotel and Gulf Gate hotel, Bahrain Centre for Studies and Research, buildings at the Central Market, Salmaniya Road and Juffair area, various jobs at Al Jiddah Island, Kanoo mosque at Hamad Town and the Grand Mosque.
