The third Airport Build & Supply Exhibition and Conference is slated to be held at Dubai's Airport Expo from June 2 to 4.
The expo is an avenue for the global airport and aviation suppliers to capitalise on development programmes worth $10 billion in the Middle East, according to a spokesman for Dubai-based Streamline Marketing, the organiser.
The exhibition will cater exclusively for companies wishing to meet decision-makers on these massive airport projects. The organiser claims that 50 per cent of the exhibitors from the last expo have already signed up. They include majors in the sector: Siemens Dematic, Sita (integrated baggage systems and kiosks), Vanderlande (complete baggage handling systems), Aeroports De Paris, FMC (airport systems), Thorn Lighting and Alstom (airfield ground lighting and control systems).
The following sectors will participate in the expo:
* Runways: lighting systems, airfield lighting systems, airline operational support services, radar/air navigation systems, jet blast fences and protection, runway instrument landing and lighting systems, runway with high-speed exit taxiways.
* Cargo handling operations: automated baggage systems/carousels, monitoring and control systems, cargo handling equipment and central utility complex cladding systems.
* Passenger handling: disabled passenger facilities and systems, elevators, escalators, moving walkways and doorway systems, fences and gates, first and business class and passenger lounges, leisure facilities, medical equipment and vehicles and passenger boarding bridges.
* Engineering and aircraft handling: Airbus A3XX and A380 special service equipment, aircraft hangars, aircraft hard stands, building, ground service equipment maintenance.
Other sectors on display include the fire stations and fire-fighting equipment, fuel hydrants and networks, fuel storage and tank farm, heliports and helipads, retail and interior design, security systems, signage and graphics and catering facilities.
