Dubai's ambitious waterfront projects will be a key topic at a conference in London later this year.
The International Waterfront Conference and Exhibition, which will run from October 22 to 23, will provide a platform for professionals involved in waterfront design, development and management, organiser Media Generation Events said.
The event is being held in association with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and supported by The Building Centre.
GPD to discuss trends in glass
Dubai: Leading firms in the glass industry are to meet in Tampere, Finland, later this year for a key meeting to discuss trends in technology and business.
Glass Processing Days (GPD) is an annual non-profit global glass industry conference with a focus on architectural and automotive glass. The goal of the June 15 to 18 conference is to collect and distribute information, create networking opportunities between research institutes, universities, and the global glass industry decision makers.
The organising committee says it has received a record number of 260 presentations. The sessions are current trends in glass exterior glazing and interior use, new technical developments and facade technology.
Heavy equipment on display
Dubai: The latest industry heavy equipment and lifts and escalators were on display at the Middle East Industrial and Heavy Equipment Show 2003 and the Elevators and Escalators Show 2003 held last month at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The expos were organised by Mediac Communications and Exhibitions.
Volvo pitches at Intermat
Brussels: Sweden-based Volvo Construction Equipment will occupy nearly 3,600 sq m of indoor and 3,000 sq m of outdoor exhibit space at Intermat 2003, to be held from May 13 to 17, at Paris-Nord Exhibition Centre in France.
New products and equipment models will be introduced to an expected 210,000 visitors from the worldwide construction equipment market.
Volvo Construction Equipment will showcase the latest members of its E-series wheel loaders - the Volvo L60E, Volvo L70E, Volvo L90E and the Volvo L110E, as well as new B-series wheeled excavators - the Volvo EW160B and the Volvo EW180B - and a new crawler excavator - the Volvo EC160B (See Excavators feature).
Meanwhile, Bauer, the German manufacturer of foundation equipment, will promote its full range of rotary drilling rig series BG with torques ranging from 90 kNm to 450 kNm.
