The MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) works at the Knowledge Village, a high-tech project, was executed using the latest engineering skills and technology, says International Electromechanical Services Company (IEMSC), a pioneer MEP contracting company in the UAE.
IEMSC carried out this fast-track project in a record time with highest quality standards, says a spokesman for the ISO 9002-certified company.
IEMSC was responsible for the MEP works involved in all the 13 buildings that make up the Knowledge Village. The project, which has a built-up area of more than one million sq ft, was divided into two phases. Work on phase I of the project, comprising nine buildings, was completed in a record time of eight months.
The scope of works included sophisticated and high-tech advanced building management system (BMS) as well as surveillance and security systems and the entire MEP infrastructure works for more than 22,000 IT outlets spread over the 13 buildings.
The challenging contract came on the heels of its success on a similar fast track project at the adjacent Dubai Internet City. IEMSC had executed MEP works for the IBM, Canon and Microsoft Techno parks, IBM Data Centre, 23 boutique offices and TAJ Television studios at the DIC. These were all super-fast track jobs, which were completed in a record time and to the satisfaction of all concerned, says the spokesman.
Established in Dubai in the early 1970s on the sound principles of quality, safety, reliability and customer satisfaction, IEMSC ranks among the few MEP contractors which have carried out works on more than 25 prestigious five-star hotels worldwide. Some of these projects in Dubai include Le Royal Meridien - Phase II and III, JW Marriott - Phase II, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Taj Palace and Holiday Inn. Other hotel projects worldwide include the Radisson Plaza Beach Resort and Hilton Beach Resort, both in Mauritius; ITC Sheraton, InterContinental, Taj, Leela Kempinski and Oberoi Towers, in Bombay, India; Taj Samudra, Sri Lanka; and Sabba' Hotel, Sana, Yemen.
Some of the other major projects executed by IEMSC in the recent past include Sharjah Mega Mall, Ajman City Centre, Al Hawai Tower, Moosa Tower, Al Attar Tower, Saeed Tower, Gulf Tower, Pyramid Health Club, Islamic Bank, and Al Ahli Bank, all in the UAE.
Over the past 30 years, IEMSC and its group companies have successfully handled some of the most complex, integrated high-tech industrial/commercial building services in several countries including the UAE, Oman, Iraq, Libya, Jordan, Mauritius, Nigeria, Yemen, Sri Lanka and India.

"The success of IEMSC and its group companies lies in its dedicated team of qualified and experienced engineers and the large number of technical personnel who are familiar with the latest technology and managerial techniques. Many of our managerial and technical staff have been with the company since its inception and their contribution to its success is commendable," he says.
