Hawa has introduced two new hardware systems which set new standards in terms of versatility, weight and design.

Switzerland-based Hawa has launched a new range of partitions which it says will allow the development of office spaces while simultaneously addressing contemporary calls for versatility and open-room layouts.
''The Hawa-Aperto 50/GL is the first system on the market for flush, stackable, sliding lightweight glass doors,'' says a company spokesman. ''The sliding hardware system is a cost-effective design solution for lightweight stacking glass doors weighing up to 50 kgs per panel.
He continues: 'This innovative sliding hardware system can be used for room partitions in residential settings and as a flexible space divider for shop fitting. It is also ideal for interior doors in shop display windows and ceiling-to-tabletop partitions for bars and reception desks.''
When closed, Hawa-Aperto 50/GL presents a flush glass front with a swivel door that is quickly and easily secured with just a single lock. Up to nine partition panels easily stack away in a minimal parking area. The type of stacking dictates maximum panel width: 950ÿmm when stacked at 90 degrees to the sliding axis, or as broad as 1200ÿmm when stacked parallel to the direction of travel. This makes Hawa-Aperto 50/GL capable of dividing even larger-sized rooms.
The new hardware system is also flexible as it can be combined with Hawa-Aperto 50/H for lightweight stackable wooden partitions to achieve wood/glass mixed-material solutions with special architectural appeal.
''The product reflects the concept of maximum glass and minimum hardware. Even high-end designers are enthusiastic about the clean lines of Hawa-Aperto sliding glass partitions. The slim-line suspension and glass retention profile with its drastically reduced fitting dimensions is refreshingly different from conventional sliding glass partition systems and adds the finishing touch to the latest Hawa product.
'The sophisticated glass securing mechanism is concealed behind covering screen profiles available in a choice of plain anodised or stainless steel-effect finishes. Exceptional ease of sliding is assured by tried and tested plastic-clad ball bearing rollers running on anodised aluminium tracks.
'The Hawa-Aperto kit system, because of its simple planning and rapid assembly nature, allows to speed up on-site assembly. A simple component structure, snap-together top tracks and guides and newly-developed dry glazing are obvious plus-points for installers.
'Corner retainers that also incorporate all the functional components secure the glass, doing away with the problems of making job-specific profile cut-outs. Sliding suspension bolts combined with eccentric retainers compensate for glass tolerances and secure the glass reliably and efficiently. Hawa allows installers to use the same components for both 8 and 10 mm glass, making the installation much simpler.
'Simple and fast assembly is assured by suspensions that slide in and secure from the front edge of the partition panels. Slim-line, uniform clearance gaps take shape virtually by themselves. Bottom guides are necessary only for heavy-duty installations.
Another new product recently launched by Hawa is the Hawa-Silenta 150/GX, which is said to offer as much glass as possible, and as little hardware as necessary.
The spokesman elaborates: ''With its discreet corner fitting hardware, Hawa-Silenta 150/GX offers unhindered sight-lines and the transparent room designs increasingly favoured by architects and interior decorators, claims the company.
'With Hawa-Silenta 150/GX, large-area sliding glass doors take on their own understated elegance.
''With its plain anodised top track and well-established suspension trolleys with plastic-coated precision ball bearings, even heavy glass doors move virtually without noise or effort. The two-point, rattle-proof bottom guide keeps everything quiet and firmly in line.''
'All Hawa products feature high standards of quality right down to the details, along with sophisticated engineering. The moving parts in Hawa-Silenta 150/GX have long been successfully launched in the wood sector and are guaranteed for quality and lasting durability.
''The plain anodised top track may be left on show as a decorative feature; complex screens and covers are unnecessary. The extremely modest fitting height is barely noticeable at just 55 mm.
'By tucking away all the components of this new sliding door hardware, invisibly in the corner suspensions the company has been able to save on time. The deliverability of the product has been enhanced by doing away with the need to surface-treat profiles or mill custom cut-outs.''
Hawa supports business partners with comprehensive planning and fitting documentation that incorporate practical calculation formulas. With unusual floor plan layouts, Hawa says it can handle the planning work directly.
