Atlas Copco is promoting its rental fleet's 1 MW containerised generating sets in the Gulf through its new customer services centre in Bahrain.
Featuring a compact-build design in a 20-ft container, compared with competitive sets being housed in a 40-ft container, the QAC1000 generating sets will also include the new QC4001 state-of-the-art micro-processing technology control modules, said a company spokesman. It allows automatic paralleling and synchronising facilities for up to 16 1MW generating sets.
The new module also offers readouts in 12 languages, with Arabic to be shortly introduced.
'With the new QC4001 control module available as standard on the 1MW generating sets, it offers improved rentability opportunities with the added paralleling facility,' says Wim Liekens, regional business development manager responsible for the rental fleet.
'The move to extend the rental fleet, specifically targeting applications for 1 MW generating sets with full paralleling facilities, follows the success of the rental fleet in Saudi Arabia,' says regional general manager Mike Mustapha.
'We are also the only principal supplier offering a complete range of air and electrical power units, plus full aftermarket services, including additional customer commitment,' he says.
The rental fleet includes a large fleet of generating sets predominantly serving oil and gas applications throughout the region, with, for example, a total of 28 sets recently hired for base camp and platform applications.
Featuring a mix of sets rated between 78-366 kVA, the generating sets all feature dual frequency controls or dedicated 60 Hz operation, he says.
Atlas Copco is an international industrial group with its head office in Stockholm, Sweden.
