Thinet International of France has been awarded a QR257 million ($70.6 million) contract for the main package of a cultural village. The village that will come up close to the Aladin theme park is promoted by the special steering Committee for the Heir Apparent Office in the West Bay area of Doha, Qatar.

The project, involving the construction of 46 one- and two-storey buildings, over an area of 78,000 sq m, is expected to be completed in 15 months and includes cafes, restaurants, a multi-purpose hall, a cinema, an amphitheatre and associated infrastructure.
The site preparation for the project was carried out by Qatar Building Company and UK-based Maunsell is the consultant for the project.
