Weinig to unveil innovations at expo

The German manufacturer of woodworking machines plans to display its strength through the launch of 28 machines at the forthcoming Ligna+Hannover 2005.

The German Weinig Group will unveil a long list of innovations at the Ligna+Hannover 2005, to be held next month (May 2 to 6).

The woodworking machinery manufacturer has planned the launch of 28 machines and systems within its 3,000 sq m stand at the world’s premier expo for the forest and wood industries to be held in Hanover, Germany.
The company, which is celebrating its centenary year, says that all exhibits on the Weinig stand will be new and cover the complete process chain of solid woodworking.
“Through our flexible technical solutions and services that conform to the market requirements, we want to make it more economical for our partners and help them safeguard their competitiveness,” says Rainer Hundsdorfer, chairman of Weinig.
From the core sector of moulding machines, Weinig takes a complete new programme to Hannover. The range extends from the model series Unimat and the new Powermat generation with the PowerLock tool system to the high-performing PowerCom machines.
In this segment, Swedish manufacturer Waco will display its Hydromat 5000 with 400 m/min of feed as well as the Powermat 6000, which can achieve a feed speed of 600 m/min with PowerLock tooling.
Some of the major tool manufacturers associated with Powermat will also be present at the Weinig stand.
“The companies already have the new tool standard PowerLock in their programme and are Weinig’s close partners,” says a company spokesman.
Weinig has also broken into new territory with the Conturex, a profiling centre for the complete processing of complex solid wood parts.
“It is a unique profiling, milling, shaping and drilling centre for workpieces, in one operation. This is a revolutionary technology, which will fundamentally change production philosophy,” he says.
Another attraction is the window centre, Unicontrol 12, where all current window systems can be produced without changing tools. It allows for complete processing, inclusive of drilling.
Apart from the machines, Weinig will also put on display a complete peripheral system that can be adjusted to meet individual requirements and help boost productivity.
Dimter, a specialist for length cutting and optimisation, will exhibit three saws and one press. In addition to the top-end cut-off plant Quantum 450 with a stacking device adjusted to the high capacity, Dimter is debuting its new slider saw OptiCut S90. In the sector of bonding, Dimter presents the newly developed continuous-process bonding press L2500 with high-frequency hardening.
Grecon, another division of Weinig, is exhibiting the its new horizontal finger-jointing line for 200 parts/min and CF 300/10 plus,  the new individual milling cutter that can accommodate long lengths for vertical or horizontal finger jointing. Also on display is the ProfiJoint milling combinations that can double milling capacity by two to four milling tables.
Weinig’s specialist division for width cutting and optimisation, Raimann, presents the ProfiRip KR 610M with connected scanner for optical board measuring, defect recognition and two-dimensional optimisation. The division will also display its fully automatic model, the multi-blade circular saw ProfiRip KR 450M. While the saw automatically measures the board width, the integrated Timbermax System takes care of maximum timber utilisation by means of width optimisation, the spokesman explains.
Along with the products, Weinig will also station a team of experts who will be ready to answer any customer queries starting from planning up to the turnkey production plant at its stand. With all these innovations, the Weinig Group demonstrates that, at its centenary, it is optimally prepared for the challenges of the future. The stand under the slogan Weinig 100 Plus, provides Weinig with an opportunity to celebrate its anniversary with its customers, the spokesman concludes.
