Dpa, the internationally renowned independent lighting design practice, which opened its new office in Dubai last year, has already completed work on some of the larger projects in the emirate thereby firmly establishing its presence in one of the most vibrant markets of the region.
Dpa, which has worked on projects in the Middle East for many years, says that the decision to set up a new firm working from the Dubai Media City was made at the request of other professionals and clients. “This has resulted in the team winning many important commissions including the lighting masterplan for Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), detailed implementation work for the Gate Precinct of DIFC, the Hilton Hotel Doha, the Grand Hyatt Hotel Beirut and various projects at the Shangri-La Dubai to name a few,” says a spokesman.
“We are committed to Dubai and the region for the long term,” says director Nick Hoggett. “We are delighted for having been invited to work on so many prestigious projects in such a short period here. We have an excellent team in place with tremendous experience to offer, supported by the extended team in our UK offices. The pace of development in Dubai is breathtaking and our focus is on further strengthening our position over the next twelve months,” he adds.
