Astrolab Resort – the region’s first comprehensive environment-based entertainment project – is being developed at Dubailand at a cost of Dh500 million ($136 million), officials announced.
The Astrolab Resort will include a five-star luxury hotel, upmarket furnished apartments, and retail shops and restaurants, among other facilities, said Dubailand chief executive officer Salem bin Dasmal.
Covering over 1.4 million sq ft of land, the resort will be one of the first new projects to open at the facility and will premiere along with the first operational phase of Dubailand in June 2007.
“Education will be the key theme of the Astrolab Resort,” said bin Dasmal. “We have gathered together a world-class team to execute what we believe will be a star attraction of Dubailand,” he added.
The Astrolab Resort is the latest project to join the impressive list of leisure, lifestyle, tourism and entertainment developments at Dubailand.
“It will be the region’s first comprehensive environ- ment-based entertainment project that will be devoted to education themes aimed at enhancing the knowledge of visitors,” he said.
