Metso Minerals, a global market leader in the rock and minerals processing industry, has launched a new track-mounted mobile crushing plant that has compact transport dimensions and provides a high throughput and an end-product with a good shape, according to a spokesman for the company.
Designed for secondary and fine crushing, the new Lokotrack LT200HP track-mounted crushing plant has been built around one of the most well-known crusher types, the Nordberg HP200 cone crusher – which has more than 650 units in operation around the world, he adds.
The plant, which offers excellent reliability, can process up to 275 tonnes per hour due to its large 210 mm feed opening, producing a highly cubical end product, he says.
The plant’s 425 HP CT C-12 diesel engine with hydraulic drive provides a variable crusher speed which the user can optimise for the specific liners and feedstock, and thereby control gradation, maximise throughput and reduce wear material cost per tonne, he points out.
Intelligent features
A standard feature of the Lokotrack LT200HP is the IC600 interactive, intelligent control system. “This monitors and controls the crushing process, ensuring continuous and stable material flow to the cone – conditions that are required for good capacity and quality end products,” he continues. “The IC600 control system shows all essential information concerning crushing process and operation of the unit.
“Crushing process parameters, such as crusher speed, can be optimised and adjusted through the interactive display. Another benefit is the single-button control of the crushing process.”
The LT200HP is designed to integrate with other Lokotrack series crushing units and ST series mobile screens. For example, its hopper and discharge conveyor match those of the LT105 primary crusher and newly-introduced ST352 mobile screen. And, thanks to the IC system, the control systems of all equipment can be interlocked together.
“Metso Minerals was the first company in the world to develop the Lokotrack crushing concept in 1985,” the spokesman claims. “In 20 years, the company has sold well over 2000 tracked units world-wide.
Meanwhile, the company’s new Lokotrack ST352 mobile screen is claimed to provide the ideal solution for quarrying, construction and recycling applications requiring high production, fine screening and multiple products.
The Locotrack ST352 also features advanced SmartScreen technology with IC300 intelligent controller, which supervises and adjusts the screen automatically for optimum screening results.
“By controlling the feed rate and screen performance, maximum screening efficiency is achieved, while the equipped technology also monitors all key functions to ensure longevity and reliability,” he says.
The modular-designed Locotrack ST352 is 3 m wide, 3.2 m high, 17 m long and weighs 25,000 kg. It has a hopper capacity of 7.5 cu m, with a total hopper loading width across its wing plates of 3,406 mm. The screen is 3.657 m long and 1.524 m wide.
