Zamil Steel’s Structural Steel Business Unit (SSBU) has been awarded a contract worth $10 million for Qatargas II development project.
Zamil Steel Industries (ZSI) will fabricate and supply pipe-racks, shelters and equipment support structures, in addition to operating stages and miscellaneous steel for project. Delivery is expected to commence later this year.
The deal came from Chiyoda-Technip, the Japanese-French construction consortium.
“ZSI has been involved with Chiyoda and Technip on numerous projects before,” says Ayman Kanaan, general manager, Zamil Steel SSBU. “The fact that this is a new order from past clients is testimony to our engineering and manufacturing capabilities in meeting the specifications and complying with our clients’ stringent requirements.”
Qatar Liquefied Gas Company (Qatargas) is the developer of the project.
ZSI has recently added new equipment to its inventory and expanded its production facilities to boost production capacity and maximise its ability to meet the ever-increasing demands of clients in this sector.
Founded in 1977, ZS is a global leader in the manufacture of pre-engineered steel buildings and the Middle East’s premier supplier of structural steel products and process equipment, transmission and telecommunications towers. It is one of three sector businesses of Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC).
