Avis ‘drives’ the construction sector

01 November 2005

The construction sector accounts for some 15 per cent of Avis’ business in the UAE, says a spokesman for the leading car rental agency in the UAE.

“Avis’ vehicles are on a long-term lease with a number of construction firms based in the Northern Emirates. In addition, our cars are also popular with contracting firms looking to chauffeur their more professional staff to construction sites,” says the spokesman.
Avis has been providing premium quality service and products to the country for almost 30 years.  A part of the Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba Group, Avis has 32 branches around the UAE.
“With a fleet of more than 6,000 vehicles and a great team of more than 1,500 dedicated, professional staff, we cater to all the diverse requirements of our customers,” says general manager Ram G Kabra. “We’re not only the largest car rental and leasing company here, we are also the most reliable and convenient.”
He continues: “Avis’ reputation for reliability and consistency is due in no small part to its well-trained staff and uniformed drivers who provide chauffeur services – all of whom attend annual courses in defensive driving techniques. Our vast range of vehicles and flexible options are designed to fit every requirement and budget. We were also the first car rental firm in the Middle East to receive ISO:9001:2000 certification, ensuring clients of our safety and competence.”
Avis has won several awards, including the ‘Best Car Rental Company’ for the past years by readers of Travel & Tourism News, Meed, Business Traveller, and ‘Avis Licensee of the Year’ from the European headquarters. Even so, Kabra points out that the company continues to adhere to the Avis’ worldwide motto ‘We try harder’, to ensure that clients’ requirements are met promptly and to their complete satisfaction as being market leaders is not enough.
