Engineers see themselves as problem solvers, and the Covid-19 pandemic has proven to be a problem like no other. While vaccines against the coronavirus are being manufactured and deployed, engineers are looking closely at indoor spaces, which have been implicated in fostering the spread of the disease.






UAE-based Rubber World Industry (RWI), a leader in HVAC and MEP products, has launched United Air-Conditioning, a specialised company with an investment of Dh90 million ($25 million) in a production plant in Al Jurf industrial area, Ajman.

The final verified testing is currently being completed at Tabreed’s AD16 district cooling plant in Abu Dhabi, which is being expanded with the addition of a new 1,100-tonne high-efficiency chiller, according to Taqeef, a leading UAE cooling solutions provider, which was commissioned to expand the plant.






Dubai-based Al Futtaim Engineering & Technologies, a part of Al Futtaim Group, says it has reached an agreement with LG Electronics Gulf for distribution of the Korean company’s range of commercial air conditioners across the UAE.






Empower says its diversified portfolio covers all the major sectors in Dubai, with the residential sector maintaining the top position in the list of its district cooling (DC) clients accounting for 64 per cent, followed by the commercial sector with 15 per cent.
