Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter ex-China, has announced that a consortium of Sepco III and Mitsubishi Power, a power solution brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), has been awarded a full turnkey contract for a fourth additional block at the Power Station 5 within its premises.






Bahrain has received global recognition for having laid the largest deep foundation for a housing project in Salman Town. According to the Housing Ministry, the development will see the construction of 16 residential towers, featuring 1,382 apartments comprising seven to 19 floors with an area of 3,600 sq m per floor.






Oman-based Alargan Towell Investment Company is set to start work on Phase One of its mixed-use development, Al Nakheel Integrated Tourism Complex (ITC), featuring hotels, residential villas and townhouses in addition to a lagoon promenade, traditional souq and an aqua park, said a report.






Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works said steady progress is being made on the 789-bed maternity hospital coming up within the Al Sabah Health District in the Capital Governorate with over 65 per cent work already completed, according to an Arab  Times report.

Global mining engineering company Metso Outotec has secured a major order from Mauritius-based Vulcan Group for the supply of engineering and key equipment for a major iron ore pellet plant, Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel, at the industrial port of Sohar in Oman.
