The Mauritius pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, which not only focuses on travel and tourism and its natural charms, but also new economic opportunities in the country, has recorded 10,000 visitors in one day for the first time.
In addition to welcoming tourists, commercial traveller numbers are also up thanks to Mauritius’s launch at Expo 2020 Dubai for a new 10-year working visas for people looking for work or to start a new business.

“I am delighted to report that we have already broken our one-day visitor numbers record and expect that we will see even more visits as our packed schedule of Expo 2020 experiences and activities roll out.
“For example, from 4-9 December, we will be hosting our ‘Finance & Investment Week’, which will see sessions on a range of topics, from why Mauritius is the ideal destination in which to do business, to private banking and wealth management, to private equity and fund management, as well as the importance of Fintech.”

Poonoosamy added: “Expo 2020 Dubai offers us a world stage to teach visitors all about our wonderful island – a paradise in which to live and work – and our schedule of events over the coming months includes something for everyone.
