Qatar-Bahrain causeway in focus
AN EXCLUSIVE focus day at the upcoming Bridges Middle East 2009 will put the Qatar-Bahrain Causeway in the spotlight, when for the first time the Qatar-Bahrain Causeway Foundation will officially discuss the matter.

Organised by the International Quality and Productivity Centre (IPQC), Bridges Middle East  2009 will run from November 22 to 25 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
Key stakeholders will gather on the first day of the event to discuss every aspect of the causeway – from design to execution – including the vision and history of the ‘Friendship Bridge’.
It will also aim to explore the impact of the causeway on the development of Qatar and Bahrain and find means to overcome the challenges of building a multi-modal structure that will also be the  world’s longest international sea crossing.
The conference will be launched by Jaber Ali R Al-Mohannadi, general manager of the foundation. He will be joined by Rick Haggett, executive director, Qatar-Bahrain Causeway management and Yanick Garillon, project director of the Qatar-Bahrain Causeway Consortium.
